VUCP formed alliance with GCAP

VUCP has become is one of the alliance with #GCAP in Bangladesh in August 2023. The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) is a network comprising over 11,000 civil society organizations (CSOs) organized within approximately 58 National Coalitions, as well as constituency groups representing women, youth, and socially-excluded individuals, among others. We believe that this partnership will provide a platform for VUCP's ideas on the international stage. On September 2nd, we participated in the People’s Assembly on SDGs 2023, organized by the GCAP alliance in Bangladesh at the National Press Club in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mahatab Uddin, General Secretary of the Board of Trustees of VUCP, attended the event. This is the first time in a public space VUCP has been introduced itself as a citizen’s platform aiming to achieve a separate UN Human Rights Declaration for the Poor. In his speach Mahatab spokes to declare the convention which will obligate the states and the international community to address poverty under a legal framework. We express our gratitude for the alliance and hope to work together with the GCAP Bangladesh alliance to help us raise this issue to the GCAP international platform. The attendees of the meeting appreciate VUCP to initiate this Global movement from Bangladesh and whish success.
