Ziaul Hoque Mukta

Ziaul Hoque Mukta has been nominated as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of VUCP due to his vast experience in successfully leading policy advocacy efforts at the local, national, and global levels. He has extensive experience in poverty eradication, human rights programs, and policy advocacy. He has served various national and international NGOs as well as the UN both at home and abroad. His areas of interest and engagement include national and global policies, as well as multilateral negotiations on policies related to trade, agriculture, energy, and climate change. With a strong leadership capacity, he has managed to run a large national-level NGO network. Currently, he is the General Secretary of the Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL), which is a coalition of more than 200 grassroots development organizations active throughout Bangladesh. Ziaul Hoque completed his MSS in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University (JU) and PGD in International Trade Policy. As the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of VUCP, he is expected to bring his experience and leadership to the organization and contribute towards achieving its goal of ending poverty by advocating for the declaration of the UN Convention on the Poor.
