Samia Ahmed got the experience availed through working in UN Agency and INGOs in the country and abroad for more than 18 years. For the last 10 years, she has been working at the senior management level. Different positions within different International Non-Profit organizations have helped her to gather experience in leading advocacy and campaign on women’s rights issues, violence against women, children's rights, climate justice, and human rights. Samia worked for Policy advocacy with Government Ministries through policy analysis and the development of policy briefs. She has successfully policy advocated on En-acting Anti Domestic Violence Act 2010 through mobilizing civil society organizations along with respective Ministries of Women & Children Affairs (MoWCA).In her professional carrier Samia worked with Terre des Hommes Netherlands, CARE Bangladesh, ActionAid Bangladesh, Concern Worldwide, World Vision Bangladesh, UNICEF & currently in Save the Children in Bangladesh. She represented her nation & organizations in many international events like Emergency Mission Response in Gomma, DR Congo as a team member of the Emergency Response Team. Discussion session on Climate Change and Gender focusing on Bangladesh in AWID Seminar, Cape Town, South Africa. Samia got Post Graduation in Development Studies (Brac University) and in Economics (University of Dhaka).
