Abdur Rob is an economist by training, value chain and market development expert with over 30 years of experience at senior and mid-level positions of leadership and management responsibility to program development, Climate resilient/smart Agriculture and adaptive livelihoods, Making Market Works for the Poor (M4P), small enterprise development, micro-credit, adult education and rural community development. He has formed effective partnerships with 60 NGOs, private sector businesses and government departments such as Fisheries, Livestock, Agriculture and Youth Department in Bangladesh. He has programme development and consultancy experience in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Philippines. He is also skilled in organizing and facilitating different training, events involving media, the private sector, the development sector and the government sector stakeholders.

Abdur Rob has assisted UNDP and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MOWCA), Government of Bangladesh to assess and design water based climate adaptive livelihood programme for extremely poor women in two coastal districts of Bangladesh. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) approved the proposal for funding of 13 Million USD. He assisted Climate Financed Advisors (CFD) to develop climate context and national climate priorities and strategies through a desk review of documents.

As a consultant, Abdur Rob has assisted many national and international organizations, including Swiss contact/ Katalyst, UKAID, USAID, UNDP, IFAD and CFD to evaluate/assess impact and design development projects. Recently, he assisted Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) to identify environment friendly 50 enterprises for a project financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Abdur Rob is skilled in financial analysis, policy analysis and advocacy, strategic planning, monitoring evaluation and learning and communication skill of using electronic media both in Bengali and English. He has completed his graduation and post-graduation from the University of Rajshahi in economics.
